Introduction of the partner

The organisation named ACD La Hoya is active for 36 years now and has European activities for 18 years, the mission is to take care about our environment and to empower the work with youth of the surrounding area. Nevertheless, the different activities offered are also addressed to the population of La Hoya, which makes the difference in the community.

The organization is actively cooperating with local government, partner NGOs, highschool and school with different project, campaigns and activities as well as international youth organizations worldwide.

Our target group are kids from 4 years olds till adults, we are supporting the integration of people from rural areas, few opportunities and from disadvantage situations, to give a better opportunity to get a positive and varied personal development.

The organization is divide in 4 areas:

“ART”

The theater group of the ACD, began operating since 1991, composed of some member of ACD LA HOYA.
The group has developed various plays and participated in national theater festival with different Plays.
We have cooperation with the high school and develop different workshops with the young people and some plays.
Trainings Photoshop, video editing, photography.
We participate in the cultural life of the community as, 3 kings, carnaval, san valentine, Fiestas of La Hoya, promoting and preserving the traditions of the rural area.

We have Adult Club were the idea is the development of entrepreneurial skills for the adults using their abilities on handcraft and try that from their skill they can have a job.
We meet twice a week and they have different handcraft activities + different sessions related to entrepreneurial skills and how to set up a business.
We focus also in the traditions and how to pass this traditions to the young generations and not to lose the knowledge. The topics that we work are, environment, food, cultural heritage.

“SPORT”

The organization have a Sport Club (CDC LA HOYA) that born in 1995 with the objectives to promote a renewed “culture of sport” based on true sport values (respect, fair play); promote sport as a vehicle for personal, social and cultural growth, social cohesion and inclusión supporting cross-border understanding through sport, promoting sport as a bearer of cultural identity, encouraging the broadest possible participation in sports for the community, to use sport as integration of youngster with few opportunities and from disadvantage situations and areas.
We have 6 football teams, kids from 4  till 11 year old, we have around 120 kids that are involve in the football club with 9 coaches and 15 volunteers helping the coaches during the year.
We realize different tournaments in La Hoya, football 11, football 5, Volleyball and Padel with cooperation with the high school and municipality, also we cooperate during the year in different sport activities in the village as Race, Yoga, capoeira, Personal defence, Ninjitsu and Pilates course. We offer to young and adult people outdoor activities and we always try to get new sport for the community that they learn something new.
We have 2 big events, International Paper Airplane competition and  Family Orientation Competition, to promote new sports and outdoor activities in the community.

We promote the inclusion using the sport as a tool and we realize different campaign in the school and high school during the year.

“EUROPE”

ACD LA HOYA started to work in european programs since 2002, we host projects in the organization and participate abroad sending around 250 people in European project.
We participate in 2 international events in Africa with the program Council of Europe.

Since 2009, we started to work in Long Life Learning Project (Comenius, Leonardo, grundtvig, gundtvig Senior)
ACD La Hoya is a sending and hosting organization since 2007, we host 18 volunteers from different countries and we send in Europe 37 people as EVS.
We have experience in KA2 Capacity Building , partner in project the last 3 years.

We organize local,regional, national, international events, trainings, youth exchanges, short study visits, EVS projects and seminars.

“ YOUTH ”

The youth center offer a space to young people where they can came and encourage their involvement in decision making, working habits, develop personal skills, competences, interests and get knowlodges in the areas of non formal education, promotion of voluntarism, preventing of unwanted forms of behaviors (delinquency, drug addiction), developing of healthy ways of living, positive affirmation among youth.
We search to create the optimum environment for the overall spiritual, intellectual and physical development of the youth, building on their foundations for happy, healthy and safe lives.
We offer ping-pong, table games, events, cultural activities, tournaments, sport and opportunities for formal and informal education by conducting training, programs, workshops, professional practice, youth exchange, conferences, competitions and youth camps in local, national and international level.
During the year we develop campaigns and workshops in the school and high school to promote integration, interculturality, healthy life doing sport, promoting sustainable development, by protecting the environment, preserving natural resources, biodiversity, and the values of the ecosystem.

Presentation of the country / region

My country is Spain and it is in the south of Europe, by the Mediterranean sea, Its continental European territory is situated on the Iberian Peninsula. Its territory also includes two archipelagoes: the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa, and the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea.
The population of spain is: 46,733,038.
With an area of 505,990 km2 (195,360 sq mi), Spain is the largest country in Southern Europe, the second largest country in Western Europe and the European Union, and the fourth largest country in the European continent. By population, Spain is the sixth largest in Europe and the fifth in the European Union. Spain’s capital and largest city is Madrid; other major urban areas include Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Málaga and Bilbao.
Spain is a secular parliamentary democracy and a parliamentary monarchy, with King Felipe VI as head of state. Our region in particular is Alicante in the south-east of the country, we have coast near, of course.
The capital of the province of Alicante and of the comarca of Alacantí, in the south of the Valencian Community. It is also a historic Mediterranean port. The population of the city of Alicante proper was 330,525
Alicante has the advantage of having a privileged geographical situation. Its natural wealth can be found both on its known coasts and in the interior of the province.

ACD LA HOYA is located in Elche, Elche is a town located in the comarca of Baix Vinalopó, Spain. Elche has a population of 228,647 inhabitants, ranking as the third most populated city in the Valencian Community (after Valencia and Alicante) and the 20th largest Spanish city.

Part of the municipality is coastal but the main city is some 11 km (6.8 mi) from the Mediterranean Sea. A small creek called Vinalopó flows through the city splitting it in two parts.

Elche is so close to the city of Alicante, that both cities form a de facto conurbation of some 800,000 inhabitants that can very well double during the summer peak-season.
